Sunday Dec. 23

Hello all and thank you everyone for all of your continuous prayers and support. This year I'm very thankful to have a wonderful Girlfriend, family and community, including a great union who has been my rock on this rough journey. My fire chief, mayor, firefighter brothers, and city councils have been amazing with support. All the prayers from everyone around the world have came true. Thank you so much. The battle for me unfortunately is not over yet. I was recently told bye my Neurosurgeon Dr. Brackman that I have a small residual tumor in the back of the neck. This tumor is not in my brain but still in the lower portion of my head. On jan. 2nd i will go have a MRV done to identify if this tumor is growing and discuss treatment. This is another bump in the road, but i am not going to let this hold me down. I am going to have wonderful holidays! I hope everyone who has supported me will too. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! Please keep me in your prayers . Thank you

I still need Your help!

As you all know I survived surgery and now I am in the recovery faze. It has proven to be a lot harder then I expected it would be. I have continuous voice, swallowing and physical therapy, along with taking my medication's daily, blood work weekly, and remembering to feed myself using the bolus feeding, through the feeding tube has been a full time job. I still need assistance as all of this has become very expensive and going through the therapy 3-4 times a week is with two different therapists is costly.  And I will have to continue to go for the next 7-10 months. Regular doctor visits have became a thing of the norm. I have became stronger in my faith and every prayer is heard and mine have been answered. I ask everyone to keep me in their prayers, I appreciate all of the support and help i have received so far but this battle is only half way over for me. So what im asking  for is your help, anything will be greatly appreciated thank you and God Bless us all.

New update 5/11/12

Hello everyone,I would like to thank you for your continous prayer and support. I am feeling better everyday, and was hoping to leave back home to Albuquerque this weekend but unfortunately I have to stay another week to undergo rigorous voice and swallowing therapy. Hopefully if all goes well I will be leaving in about 7-10 days and I am very ready to return home. Once I return I will proceed with on-going therapy at UNM hospital for 6-8 months. I still have the feeding tube in my stomach and this is how I am getting my daily nutrients. I need to increase my choleric intake but this has proven to be difficult to consume through the feeding tube 6 liquid food substitutes a day. By the way I went into this surgery in tip top shape working out regularly as a firemen should, I weighed 157 pounds, I have lost approximately 30 pounds and am struggling to gain it back. I know that it will return but it will take a while to recover and get back in shape, I have no doubt that I will get back in amazing if not better shape, but first I have to regain the ability to swallow, get my voice back, and regain my strength. I am very blessed and I am so thankful to have the support of so many people including all of my firefighter brothers throughout the nation, but most of all I thank the lord for guiding me through this process.

Local HERO needs your Help!

As a member of your community, I reach out to you and your business, in hopes that you will extend your hand to help a local hero. Vincent Cordova has been a member of the Albuquerque Fire Department for 3 years. He has helped many of our families, neighbors, and friends putting his life in danger to do so. Now Vincent needs some help of his own. He was recently diagnosed with a very rare but serious brain tumor, known medically as a "Jugular Foramen Schwannoma," which is found in only 2% of people. Vincent, being only twenty-four years old, living an active lifestyle, primarily one which is dedicated to public service, was advised by numerous neurosurgeons that the tumor needs to be removed immediately, or he faces serious health complications, and even death. Not only is the procedure a very lengthy one but it is also very costly, as you would imagine. Considering the procedure calls for an out-of-state treatment, it is also going to be very costly for him and his family to travel. Vincent will also be unable to work due to an extensive recovery process, following the procedure. I am asking for your help to raise money for Vincent, or make a donation on behalf of your business, or personally. Anything will help and will be much appreciated. After all, it is the least we can do for a young man who has played a key role in maintaining our safety and peace of mind. Please work with us, in our attempt to reduce his surgical, travel, and personal expenses, as he deals with this very unfortunate, and unexpected medical issue.
-Thank you for your support-
